🎈Election Day: November 7🎈

Help us Get Out the Vote!

Here is how we Got Out The Vote (GOTV) for our races in Virginia and Washington State!

This is the most exciting part of the year for our campaigns and for Sister District. Whether you’ve been one of our rockstar District Captains or if you just haven’t been as involved as you want to be... no matter where you live, now is the time to take action!

Targeted, strategic opportunties for action are scheduled for all across the country, and you can find local events on our Facebook page or by reaching out to your District Captain. If you still need help, please email us with your name and location.

And don't forget to join our virtual GOTV party!

We’ll be broadcasting election results as we receive them via Facebook, Slack, Twitter, and text. Please fill out the form below if you would like to opt-in to have results texted to you.

CANVASSING

New to canvassing? Don’t worry, whichever campaign you’re knocking on doors for will give you a training before they send you out to the field. And here are a few extra tips as you're knocking on doors for GOTV:

  • Campaigns will be running at full capacity during GOTV since it’s the last big push before Election Day. Bring your own (or even extra!) pens, clipboards, and bottles of water to make it easier on them.
  • Offer to help with data entry after your canvassing shift. Each evening, the campaign staff has to enter all the results from that day’s canvass into a database, so they can adjust the next day’s canvassing plan accordingly. It can mean some very late nights for the campaign staff!
  • Never walk across someone’s grass or plants—only use designated paths or walkways. When leaving literature (campaign brochures, etc.) write a brief note to personalize it, like “Please vote for ____!” before you leave it in their door or under the doormat.
  • Never leave campaign lit in a mailbox—that’s illegal!

SOCIAL MEDIA

We hope you’re as excited about GOTV as we are, and we’d love to share your enthusiasm! Please send us photos and videos of your team working hard.

We’d also love to share some Facebook Live videos throughout the GOTV period. If you’d like to designate a person on your team (maybe yourself!) who can be responsible for a live video or two, please email us and she’ll get them set up.
