2020 Election Results: Early Analysis
The 2020 election results are still coming in, and we will continue to provide analysis. In the meantime, here are a few highlights.
Conducting Fair and Safe Elections this November

A special election affected by pandemic and GOP tactics
It’s not clear how the coronavirus outbreak affected this election. But it IS clear Republican gerrymandering and voter suppression played a massive role.

Why States Matter: Gerrymandering
Democrats have overlooked state legislatures for too long, and the Republicans realized that that was a loophole. It was the perfect bargain — in a gridlocked Washington, DC, where nothing could get done, if the Republicans were able to spend a little bit of money and focus down-ballot they would be able to take control of state legislatures in 2010 and would be able to draw themselves a lasting and durable majority and advance a very conservative agenda within states where it wouldn’t have been possible otherwise.
